Abstract

Nocardia spp. are causing various infections in human and animals. Nocardia isolation and identification are hard and need of professional experts and equipped laboratory. Sometimes there are various bugs in the isolation, identification, antibiogram, etc. according to some articles. The purpose of this study is to survey comments and questions in letters to the editor that have been published in the journals about nocardial infections (nocardiosis) in human, and we discussed them in this article. We searched and found fifteen letters to the editor about nocardiosis. Comments and questions were about isolation, identification, treatment, etc. We propose to establish reference laboratory for the genus Nocardia in countries that help researchers and health. © 2019, Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.
